Terms of Use
Last updated 2026-08-11 · Published by Yassine Boullam
1. Agreement
By downloading or using Chinesely (“the app”) you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
2. What the app is
Chinesely is a self-study tool for learners of Mandarin Chinese, organised around the vocabulary bands of the HSK examination from level 1 to level 4. It is provided free of charge, with no account, no advertising and no subscription.
3. What the app is not
Chinesely is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the Center for Language Education and Cooperation, Chinese Testing International, or any body that administers the HSK examination. “HSK” is used only to describe the syllabus the material is organised around.
We do not guarantee any examination result. The material is prepared carefully but may contain errors, and examination syllabuses change.
4. Your progress
Your study progress is stored on your device. We have no access to it and cannot restore it if your device is lost or the app is deleted. Use the export button in Settings if you want a copy.
5. Intellectual property
The lessons, example sentences, explanations, memory hooks and the design of the app are owned by Yassine Boullam. You may use them for your own study. You may not copy, republish, resell or redistribute them, or use them to train a machine learning model, without written permission.
Individual Chinese words and their dictionary meanings are facts and are claimed by nobody.
6. Acceptable use
Do not attempt to decompile the app, extract its content in bulk, or use it in any way that breaks the law where you are.
7. Availability and changes
The app is provided as-is. We may change, suspend or discontinue it at any time. Because it works offline, a version already installed will keep working.
8. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Yassine Boullam is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the app, including examination results, lost study time, or lost progress data.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Maroc, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
